At the 2015 AILG Conference, Paul Lemass, Assistant Secretary of the Local Government Division at the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government discussed the government's Local Government Reform Act 2014, including merging city and county councils and increased efficieny. However there were heated responses from some delegates.
